Serve. Lead.Empower. Develop.

WHO WE ARE
SLED works alongside families and communities across the Middle East and North Africa, helping meet today’s needs while creating opportunities for a stronger tomorrow.
SLED was founded on a simple belief: communities are strongest when they’re equipped to build their own future.
Our name reflects how we work.
Serve. Lead. Empower. Develop

Why We Exist
Families are forced to flee conflict only to face new hardships.
The crisis may pass, but rebuilding a life takes years. Across the Middle East, millions continue to face the lasting effects of conflict, displacement, poverty, and social exclusion.
Emergency aid is essential, but recovery doesn't end when the crisis fades. Communities need opportunities, education, and long-term investment to rebuild and move forward.
That's why SLED exists.
We work alongside communities to meet today's needs while helping build stronger futures.

What This Looks Like
When SLED is present, communities begin rebuilding from the inside out.
Families regain stability. Children return to school. Women gain skills, confidence, and opportunity. People living with disabilities experience belonging and inclusion. Communities move beyond survival toward long-term resilience.
From displacement to dignity. From crisis to stability. This is what lasting transformation looks like.
A Story of Transformation
In one of the poorest neighborhoods in Egypt, a young man living with a disability spent years in isolation, facing rejection and deep depression. One day, he heard something unfamiliar.
The sound was joy. Music and laughter filled the air from a nearby gathering. Curious, he asked a volunteer what was happening. That conversation led to regular visits, meaningful relationships, and lasting support.
Today, he is no longer living in isolation. He now volunteers alongside others, serving people with disabilities in his own community. His life was not rescued. It was restored with dignity, belonging, and purpose.
